Growing the Game

2025 MLK Day of Service

I am excited to partner with the Randolph Community Center in Richmond, Virginia to help them jump start their youth baseball program. They have approximately 20 kids between the ages of 9-12 that will be participating in baseball this spring.

As we know, baseball can be expensive, so we have compiled an Amazon wish list and are hoping to outfit the kids with the equipment they need.

If you are in Central Virginia and have any gently used equipment suitable for 9-12 year-olds, please reach out and we can arrange to pick it up.

See Her, Be Her panelist

In partnership with Dolby Laboratories, please join us for a special screening of Grassroots Baseball’s new documentary SEE HER BE HER at the AMC Lincoln Square 13 in New York, NY on May 4 at 11:00 am. Please plan to arrive between 10:30-10:45 am, as the film will start promptly at 11:00 am.

The film screening will be followed by a book signing and brief q&a with a women in baseball panel including Veronica Alvarez (USA Baseball Women’s National Team manager, MLB’s Girls’ Baseball Ambassador, A’s coordinator of player development in Latin America); Naomi Ryan (The youngest player on the USA Baseball Women’s National Team and a multi-sport athlete whose high school baseball coach is Hall of Fame electee Billy Wagner); Justine Siegal (WPBL co-founder and Baseball For All Founder); Liz Benn (former MLB Senior Coordinator of Baseball Operations and NY Mets Director of Major League Operations); and Jean Fruth (SEE HER BE HER director and producer).
